FINAL Psych Sheets

Firstly a big thank you to everyone who reduced their number of events in order to give this meet a chance to run within the time we have pool availability. As there have been so many amendments, I have rerun the attached final psych sheet for your reference.

Some final notices regarding Sundays InspireNet Blue Ribbon Carnival: -.

  1. CHANGE OF START TIME - Due to the large number of swimmers attending, we have managed to negotiate slightly earlier access to the pool.  Warmups will now start at 12:15pm and we will start racing at 12:50pm. We ask that all 400m free entrants report to marshalling at 12:45pm.   We are scheduled to finish at about 5:50pm.
  2. Please bring CASH - there is NO EFTPOS on site.  Cash sales are needed for programmes, BBQ, raffles and the Ice Cafe.
  3. A seating plan will be made available on the day so we can ensure all clubs can sit as a group within an allocated space. Please be aware that seating will be very tight and the reserved seating will be for SWIMMERS and COACHES / MANAGERS ONLY – no other parents will be able to sit in this area.
  4. Coaches / Managers allocation as follows :- 1-10 swimmers = 2 / 11-30 swimmers = 3 / 30+ swimmers = 4,
  5. The venue is at capacity and unfortunately COVID cases have increased lately within our community, so please limit the number of spectators as much as possible. Masks and hand sanitiser will be available.
  6. Timekeeping is the best way to spectate - can I please ask Manawatu clubs to organise timekeepers as per the following numbers:- Dannevirke = 3 / Dolphin = 1 / Feilding = 1 / Ice Breakers = 3 / Kiwi West = 3 / Levin = 2 / Palm North = 3 / Whanganui = 2.  Please report to the officials table when you arrive to sign in.
  7.  We will set aside one lane during the warm-up for para and junior swimmers only (10 and Under) as we have a number swimming that are new to carnivals. Any experienced 10 and unders are welcome to warm up in the general lanes.
  8. Marshalling will be operating and we will do over the top starts.
  9. Results will be posted poolside as soon as possible after DQs are processed for that event.
  10. The age group ribbons will be decided through point allocations based on placings for each swimmers best 4 events. Any swimmers who swam in a 100/200/400m event where ribbons are not in age groups will have their points adjusted to reflect their swim within their age group.  In the event of a tie, the ribbon will go to the swimmer with the most FINA points over their 4 swims. Winners will be announced by email / facebook.
  11. Ice Breaker Aquatics reserves the right to photograph swimmers by a photographer engaged by the club.  The collection and use of images of a swimmer may be used for promotional and public relations purposes after the event and may be shared externally with Sponsors and Partners of the Blue Ribbon Carnival.

Don’t forget your cash – we have some fabulous raffles ($2 a ticket or 3 for $5) that will be drawn at the meet.  We also have a BBQ selling $2 sausages before the meet for those needing sustenance and the Ice Cafe bake stall will be going full of wonderful home baking to keep those energy levels up during the duration of the meet..

Thanks for supporting our carnival.  The stash of spot prizes is looking great, thanks to our wonderful sponsors - take a look at our Ice Breaker Aquatics Facebook page to see all our spot prizes that have been kindly donated!

We look forward to seeing you all Sunday.

Firstly a big thank you to those who amended their events down to a maximum of 4 - this has made a big difference .I will be following up with any swimmers still on 5 or 6 events so if you know of any from your club in this situation (as per the database), can you please chase and email me the events to withdraw from ASAP. If I haven't heard what event(s) they are choosing to withdraw from by 8pm Tuesday, I will need to withdraw on my discretion based on what will reduce heat numbers.

Please find attached the preliminary psych sheet as it stands this morning - can you please circulate amongst your swimmers for checking.

Unfortunately we will be limiting the 400m races to the top 12 - we had 2 spaces to offer between 5 swimmers with NT so I have offered the spots to the two swimmers with the fastest 200m time.  They have provided coaches times so can the 3 swimmers with NT please advise me of an alternative event (not a 200/400)?

The 200m races will be limited to the top 18 -

  • 200 breast - we have 5 NTs with 3 spots
  • 200 IM - we have 5 NT with 1 spot
  • 200 free - full - can those seeded 19 to 26th please advise of an alternative event (not a 200/400)
  • 200 back - ok.

Can all NTs for 200m races please be provided early by Tuesday 8pm to give us the chance to offer alternatives to those swimmers not in the top 3 heats.

Can any amendments and Coaches times please be provided for all other NTs by Wednesday 8pm.

Please bear with us as this is a big meet for the facility but this does create exciting racing opportunities.  We are doing everything possible to get the meet to run to time.

I'll send out the final psych sheet with further notices once all withdrawals are actioned.

Thanks for your support

Kind Regards

Karen Willis
